When C. Eames was asked, "Are you a designer?"
he replied, "I consider myself a craftsman.
A craftsman finds a match of interest with the client and solves the client's problems.
You do what is right for the client and yourself.
That's what "craftsmanship" is, and in that sense we are craftsmen.
If the work is good enough, it can become art.
But it is not the reputation as art that is important, it is the quality.
In the advertising world, we want to inherit the spirit of Eames
and be "craftsmen" who truly pursue the "client's interest.
Staffing craftsmen in the right places to meet client needs.
Producing individual craftsmen into excellent units.
And we build good communication between clients and users.
This is the attitude of the Ad Craftsmen's Union.
